Dice Game Rules & Odds
Everything you need to know about our multi-player dice game, including odds, payouts, and example scenarios.
How Dice Works
Basic Rules
- Rooms support 3 to 100 players
- All players bet the same fixed amount set by the room creator
- When the room fills, Chainlink VRF randomly selects one winner
- The winner takes the entire pot (all players' bets combined)
Key Features
From 3-player intimate games to 100-player high-stakes battles
One random winner receives the entire pot
48-hour timeout ensures rooms don't stay open forever
How Winner Selection Works
We use Chainlink VRF (Verifiable Random Function) to select winners. This cryptographically secure random number generator ensures no one can predict or manipulate the outcome.
Winner Selection Algorithm
// Winner selection using Chainlink VRF uint256 winnerIndex = randomWord % currentPlayerCount; // winnerIndex is a fair random number from 0 to (currentPlayerCount - 1) // Each player has exactly 1/N chance of winning
The random number is generated AFTER all players have joined. Neither players nor PeetBet can influence the outcome. Every selection is verifiable on-chain.
Odds by Player Count
| Players | Win Chance | Payout |
|---|---|---|
| 3 players | 33.33% | 3x |
| 5 players | 20% | 5x |
| 10 players | 10% | 10x |
| 20 players | 5% | 20x |
| 50 players | 2% | 50x |
| 100 players | 1% | 100x |
Your odds are always exactly 1/N where N is the number of players.
Formula: Win Probability = 1 / Number of Players
Example Scenarios
Small Room (5 Players)
Higher chances of winning with a smaller but more frequent pot. Good for consistent play.
Medium Room (10 Players)
Balance between odds and potential payout. Popular choice for most players.
High Stakes (3 Players)
Best odds with the highest chance per player. Great for players who want better winning probability.
50% Leave Rule
Players can leave a waiting room and get a full refund, but only when the room is below 50% capacity. This prevents players from leaving once a game is about to start.
Can Leave (Get Refund)
You can leave and get your bet back when the room is below 50% of its max capacity.
Cannot Leave
Once the room reaches 50% capacity or more, you're committed to the game.
Examples
- 10-player room: Can leave when 4 or fewer players (below 50%)
- 10-player room: Cannot leave when 5+ players (at or above 50%)
- 5-player room: Can leave when 2 or fewer players (below 50%)
48-Hour Stale Room Rule
If a room doesn't fill within 48 hours of creation, it becomes 'stale'. All players can then cancel and get their full refund. This ensures your funds are never locked indefinitely.
Stale rooms display a special indicator. Any player can trigger the cancellation and everyone gets refunded automatically.
